Beaujolais Nouveau 2010

This red Beaujolais by Jean-Paul Brun is made from Gamay and was rated 90 points by Wine Advocate. It retails for $16.25/bottle at Austin Wine Merchant. It is low in alcohol - only 12%! Love it!

Aroma - red fruit, spice
Taste - red fruit, light spice, soft tannins, very clean

Seems like this wine would be very food friendly. According to its importer, Louis/Dressner, the wine is made using "old style" techniques such as relying mostly on indigenous yeasts for fermentation. The result is a Beaujolais that tastes fresh. Very different than the Beaujolais that I've had in the past, which are generally Beaujolais Nouveau (which I understand Brun also makes, but I probably will stick with this style of Beaujolais).

A very nice wine - I like it a lot and will definitely purchase it again! In fact, I think I may be in love with another Louis/Dressner selection!
